Each design prints one to a page at letter size, which suits most pumpkins as it comes. For a bigger or smaller pumpkin, change the scale in your printer settings before you print. If you are between sizes, go larger; you can always trim the paper.

No. Everything is designed to print in black ink on plain paper. Set your printer to "black and white" or "grayscale" and you are set.

Print at 100% for the size it comes at, or use your printer's "fit to page" or scale % setting to size up or down. For a really big pumpkin, print on a larger paper size rather than enlarging a letter page.

Tape the printed stencil to the pumpkin, snipping the edges so it lies flat. Poke closely spaced holes along every line, then peel the paper off: the dotted outline is your carving guide.

A poking tool (a pushpin or toothpick works), a small serrated knife or a cheap carving saw, and a scoop. Nothing fancy.

Carve the inner shapes first and the big outer shapes last so the pumpkin stays sturdy. Cut just inside the dotted line so the holes disappear, and let the serrations do the work: do not force it.
